i’ve turned into the most boring woman in bearwood. all i can talk about is eggs. buying eggs, dying eggs, draining eggs, cleaning eggs, eating eggs, decorating eggs… eggs have become my life. i have become egg obsessed.
for the past month, all i have been doing is making decorations out of duck eggs. i remembered that when i was a little girl in Canada, we used to decorate eggs using wax. The method originated in the Ukrain, and is called Pysanka. it was hard to track down the kit to decorate the eggs here in the UK, but i’m glad i persevered, as i’m oh so very smitten with my eggs.
now, i’ll admit that my humble little eggs are not as fancy and elaborate as the traditional Ukrainian easter eggs… but i think they are quite sweet. i’m going to be selling them at the I
<3 Bearwood in the Springtime craft fair, so if you fancy having one of these eggs to hang in your window or give as a gift, you can find me at St. Mary’s on April 9th.
i love these so much that i might even have to make a few to keep for myself after the fair. i am that obsessed.
