It’s the day before, the day before the day which means it must be Thursday and I’m in my usual state of stumbling around, unfocussed, excited and even more forgetful than ever. I think I’m on top of everything though. There’ve been a few niggles. I’ve been struggling with some pesky doily bowls. They’ve been refusing to stiffen. I’ve given them a stern talking to and ‘re-stiffened’ them in a stronger solution and now all I can do is wait.
I’ve had trouble taking photos of some of my makes…the light, my useless camera phone, tricky materials etc. I’ve made the usual army of owls, or parliament for the pedants, but a lot anyway. I decided to make a few cushions too. It’s sort of come full circle actually because way back when I first started felting wool jumpers it was to make cushions. But then I had loads of sleeves left over, so made the owls, and they have been such a hit with people they’ve become a mainstay. So this time I decided to embellish the cushions with owls! This obsession has got to stop sometime I know, but not anytime soon.
And to prove it I’ve been continuing the theme with framed textile collages.
So, that’s just a little taster of the things I’ll have on my stall on Saturday. If you read this and come to the fair, do stop and say hello.
