We had a great day at Bearwood Handmade November, crowds of people kept stall holders busy all day and we were pleased to welcome back some old friends as well as introduce visitors to some handmade artists who joined us for the first time. We have high hopes that the next event will be just as great.
Bearwood Handmade December takes place on Saturday 3rd December which gives us just under a week to show off some of our lovely makers and bakers (we’re upping the sweet treat content at the next fair – t’is the season!)
We’re kicking off our ‘Meet the Maker’ series with one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. Derek Lilley a.k.a Daddledo will be bringing his intricate crafted book art back to Bearwood Handmade. Yay!
‘Using outdated and discarded books, encyclopaedias and dictionaries I give them a new lease of life.
I turn a sad and unloved item into something which can be enjoyed on a daily basis by its new owner.
Books can be adapted in many ways. The creations I produce are varied and include carved books, collages, folded books, clocks and personalised pieces.‘
Bearwood Handmade December takes place between 10am and 4pm on Saturday 3rd December at Bearwood Baptist Church Hall, Cnr Rawlings Rd and Bearwood Road, B66 4HA.
